OOW on Yachts <3000GT, COC, issued by Transport Malta
in cooperation with Maritime MT
Duration of studies thirteen (13) weeks, in Athens, Greece
This course aims to give candidates the required knowledge, competence, and skills to work worldwide as Deck Officers on Yachts less than 3000GT – STCW Reg II/1 on the following modules
- Stability and Yacht Construction
- Passage Planning
- Marine Meteorology
- Bridge Watchkeeping
- Maritime Law
- Celestial Navigation
- Oral Exam Preparation
- Min 18 years old
- Hold a valid Seafarers Medical Fitness Certificate (IMO/ILO)
- Hold a valid TM MOY 200GT Licence or equivalent endorsed by TM such as RYA/IYT 200GT Offshore/Coastal/150 Nm Licence
- Have accumulated 12 months of approved seagoing service on vessels not less than 15mtrs in length or 80GT as part of an approved training program, including 6 months of watchkeeping duties while holding a TM approved Training Record Book; or
- Have at least 36 months of approved seagoing service on vessels not less than 15mtrs in length or 80GT (not holding Training Record Book)
- Have successfully completed the Approved OOW 3000GT Training Program including passing the following examinations

- Submit the following Certificates
1. Basic Safety Training
2. Efficient Deck Hand (by a TM Accredited Training Center)
3. Advanced Fire Fighting
4. Medical First Aid
5. Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats
(other than Fast Rescue Boats)
6. RADAR / ARPA Operational Level (by a TM Accredited Training Center)
7. Leadership and Teamwork (by a TM Accredited Training Center)
8. GMDSS GOC
9. ECDIS (by a TM Accredited Training Center)
10. Proficiency In Designated Security Duties
